Who We Are
We are Elvis and Sulee Tangko. We love living and serving in Cameroon. Our heart’s desire is to see that God’s Word is accessible to all people in a language that speaks to their heart. Scripture Engagement and Literacy are important aspects of the work of Bible translation.
As a Scripture Engagement Specialist, Elvis will work with language communities to create materials and train communities to engage with Scripture through media (videos, apps, audio), short stories, music, skits, Bible study materials, etc. Scripture Engagement combines Elvis’s two greatest passions: Sharing God’s Word & Technology/Media.
As National Literacy & Education Coordinator for SIL Cameroon, Sulee coordinates the literacy and multi-lingual education programs and projects nationwide, supervises personnel, and manages budgets. As an educator, the most exciting part of Sulee’s job is working with literacy projects, which can include teacher training, curriculum development, writing workshops, technology training and more.
